Reasons we may close an account
NumberBurn is for receiving texts and calls on a throwaway number. We may suspend or close an account, and take back its numbers, for any of these:
- Fraud. Using a number to deceive someone for money or to get something you are not entitled to.
- Ban evasion. Getting around a ban that another service placed on you.
- Harassment. Using a number to threaten, stalk or pester someone.
- Illegal use. Any use that breaks the law.
- Evading legal identity requirements. Using a number to avoid an identity check that the law requires.
- Collecting verification codes at volume. Using numbers to gather large numbers of codes, for example to create accounts elsewhere.
- Reselling numbers. Selling or renting out numbers you rented here.
- Automated account creation. Making accounts with scripts or bots.
One account per person and per forwarding mobile
Each person may have one account and one trial. Each verified forwarding mobile may belong to one account. A second account on the same person or the same forwarding mobile can be refused or closed.
Fair use for texts
Each number may receive up to 500 texts per calendar month. We may limit a number that goes beyond that.
If a NumberBurn number was used to abuse you or someone else, email hello@numberburn.com. Include the number and the date it happened.
Suspension and taking numbers back
When an account is closed, its numbers stop forwarding. The plan is the same as after a cancellation: the numbers are burned into quarantine for 30 days before they return to the carrier pool. See the terms and the privacy policy.
