About NumberBurn

NumberBurn is a small service for people who want to give out a phone number and be able to throw it away. It is a product of Meralume Labs.

What NumberBurn is

NumberBurn rents receive-only US phone numbers. Calls to one ring your own confirmed mobile, texts land in a web inbox, and one tap burns the number so it stops forwarding. See how it works.

Who runs it

NumberBurn is a Meralume Labs product. Meralume Labs is a portfolio of web products that share one back office, including support.

Principles

  1. Receive-only on purpose

A number can take calls and texts and cannot send either. That keeps it useful for handing out and hard to misuse, and it means a number cannot place any call, including to 911.

  2. Clear limits

We state what the service does and does not do, in plain words, next to what it can. US numbers only. Some sites refuse virtual numbers. There is no app, no MCP server and no public developer API.

  3. Burn means burn

When you burn a number, forwarding stops at once. Your message history stays visible to you, and the number is held back before it returns to the carrier pool.
