# Verify your mobile

How to confirm the real mobile that your NumberBurn calls ring: the START text, how long the code lasts, and the one account per mobile rule.

Calls to your NumberBurn numbers ring one confirmed mobile phone. You confirm it by texting a short code from that phone.

## Confirm your mobile

1. **Get your code.** When your number is ready, NumberBurn shows a 4 digit code.
2. **Text START and the code.** From the real mobile that should receive your calls, send a text to your new NumberBurn number in the form shown below, using your own code.
3. **Wait for the confirmation.** NumberBurn matches the text to your pending verification and confirms the mobile. From then on, calls to your number ring that phone.

> **Note:** Send the text from the phone you want to confirm, not from another line. The text is how NumberBurn learns which mobile is yours.

## Code life and attempts

- The code is 4 digits long.
- A pending verification stops accepting codes after 30 minutes.
- 5 wrong codes lock the pending verification. After a lock or an expiry you start a new verification and get a new code.

## One account per person, one account per mobile

- Each person gets one account, and each mobile can be confirmed on one account only.
- NumberBurn stores the line type of your mobile (mobile, landline or VoIP) when it verifies. Use an ordinary mobile line; other line types may be flagged for review.
