Plain answers on how NumberBurn works: verifying your mobile, receiving texts, forwarded calls, burning a number, billing and limits.

How receive-only NumberBurn numbers work, from picking a number to burning it.

## Getting started

- [Getting started](https://numberburn.com/help/getting-started.md): What NumberBurn is, and how a number goes from pick to burn.

## Numbers

- [Verify your mobile](https://numberburn.com/help/verify-your-mobile.md): Confirm the one real mobile that your calls ring, with a START text and a short code.
- [Receive texts](https://numberburn.com/help/receive-texts.md): Read texts and codes in the web inbox, tagged with the number that got them.
- [Calls and minutes](https://numberburn.com/help/calls-and-minutes.md): Forwarding modes, what counts as a minute, rounding, and the monthly cap.
- [Burn a number](https://numberburn.com/help/burn-a-number.md): One tap ends a number. What stops, what stays, and when a burn costs extra.

## Billing

- [Billing and usage](https://numberburn.com/help/billing-and-usage.md): Plans, the trial, extra numbers, cancelling, and refunds.

## Safety

- [Limits and 911](https://numberburn.com/help/limits-and-911.md): Receive-only, no 911, US numbers only, and sites that refuse virtual numbers.
- [Troubleshooting](https://numberburn.com/help/troubleshooting.md): Symptoms, likely causes and fixes, and how to reach support.

## For developers

- [For developers and agents](https://numberburn.com/help/for-developers-and-agents.md): What exists for agents and developers, and what does not.
